#1441 – The Expat Files: Vaccines, Raw Food, and Machetes in Latin America

I'm Johnny Mueller and you're listening to the expat files living in Latin America The show that tells you just what it's like to live work play and or retire down here in Latin America It's a mix of the good the bad the ugly and the great and it's all right here. So let's get started Let's start with an email from Derek. He says Johnny I assume Latinos vaccinate the hell out of their pets like they do up here in the United States I mentioned that he says because in working on my plan B I found out to bring my dog down to El Salvador

[00:48] I have to jump through all kinds of hoops fill out all kinds of paperwork go to a registered vet Who knows the system how to get dogs and other pets across borders legally make sure my dogs got all the required vaccines And there's a ton of them, etc, etc So I can just imagine when I finally get settled in El Salvador, of course I'll have to hook up with a vet at some time or another Just like humans have to eventually hook up with a GP So my question is do Latin American veterinarians follow the same vaccine protocols as they do up in the states If so, what choice do I have? Can I opt out? My plan is to make the break in about three months Meet my dog a couple of suitcases and my Bitcoin sign Derek Bradington, Florida Well Derek as far as vets down here in Latin America, there's good and there's bad news

[01:37] What you'll find is there are very high-end vets in upscale areas with cute little vans and logos and dogs and cats painted on them and when you go into their office you'll find it's just like a vet's office in the states and just like up in the states, they'll try to push all kinds of products on you and Yearly vaccines, which by the way, I'm totally against because I've read numerous reports Indicating that once you get your dog the first round of vaccines when he's just a little pup He will never need him again And even some of those vaccines in the first round when he's really small or not necessary at least that's what some Holistic vets are saying turns out what your vet doesn't want you to know is that the antibody titers remain high throughout the life of your dog from just one initial round of vaccinations and if you want to see the report and the

Well, if you've got some land to let them run That's my usual setup a Rottweiler and two dobies as you might imagine I've been to a number of vets and none of them strays from the recommendations of vets up in the states They've got the same vaccine recommendation charts plastered on their walls. They all try to be so gringo wise That part sort of makes me sick Just like up in the states when it comes to backs is whether it's for kids or pets those multiple yearly Vaccinations are big money makers for the vet and big pharma. What most people don't know is that big pharma runs the vet business, too

[03:18] Think about RFK jr. For a second for a long time RFK jr. Has been in the news and getting beat up every time He's grilled by some idiot mainstream journalist his original sin according to the lamestream media is his claim that Vaccines can cause autism in kids. Well, you know, if you look deep into the subject, you'll find out that's true But big media also run by big pharma doesn't want you to know that Meanwhile study after study have proven RFK, right? But still the average person has rarely been exposed to that kind of info though It's all over the place on alternative news sites. And now that he's head of health and human services It doesn't seem to matter they still beat up on him and treat him like he's wearing two tinfoil hats The sad truth is that multiple studies have shown that in some people

[04:07] Vaccines do cause or trigger autism or autism like symptoms But you knew that already right because to listen to this show You're certainly curious open-minded in way above average and you don't believe the bullshit coming out of pharma supported mainstream media By the way, did you know in mainstream media like CNN NBC ABC every third or fourth ad is a pharmaceutical ad I know. I know you knew that already, too It's bad enough though that the average person knows nothing about the vaccine autism late But consider this almost no one even people very read up on the subject think that vaccines cause cancers Now that would be a bridge too far, right? Wouldn't it you say that mixed company? Hey Vaccines not only could trigger autism, but they can trigger cancer, too

[04:54] Wow, that's a stretch people will look at you like you're a flat earther or would they that said About a month and a half ago. I got this email from a veterinarian in New England named George I thought it'd be a great tie-in to Derek's question about vaccines and pets here in Latin America So I'll paraphrase this. He says Johnny. I'm a veterinarian in New England. Did you know there's a cancer? 100% fatal in cats called vaccine related sarcoma It used to be called feline leukemia vaccine related sarcoma, but they changed the name He says that's why we give the vaccine far down on a cat's leg these days So if he develops cancer in the area, we can amputate that leg can save the cat if we find the cancer fast enough

[05:43] Hmm me Johnny here man when I read that I thought what the fuck I gotta check this guy out to see if what he says is really true. Is he just blowing smoke? Is he really a veterinarian? So doing a quick search? I find many articles That confirm everything he said saying things like a concern for cat owners an uncommon But serious adverse reaction that can occur with injection sites and cats including and especially in sites where vaccines are administered The tumors and cancers which can develop weeks months even years after a vaccination. The tumors are generally fatal Some cats develop multiple cancerous sarcomas located at each vaccination injection site Wow, how come almost no one knows that I certainly didn't but I don't have cats

[06:30] I don't even like cats, but still you'd think that would be more generally known, but it's not Till George the vet brought it up here. Anyway, he goes on to say Johnny It seems the veterinary profession can't follow in the footsteps of the corrupt big pharma funded medical system fast enough He says just as with the human medical system big pharma is guiding the education in veterinary schools, too To keep us in line and keep us vaccinating your pets every year Won't be to us vets who don't follow the protocol. He says sometimes I really feel like crying When I attend those mandatory Continuing education meetings that we all must attend to maintain our veterinary licenses Those meetings are all controlled by big pharma, too

[07:16] They sponsor and pay for many of those events and give free samples of all the new drugs They want us to administer makes me sad John that young veterinary students have no idea They've been captured by big pharma Seems no one even thinks to question big pharma He says the profession I've loved and dedicated my life to for so many years is nothing but a big corporate swindle Why is it that our pets lives get shorter and shorter? Just like older humans many older pets are on permanent medications yet people love their pets So they'll spend almost any amount of money to follow the charlatan big pharma guidelines finally, he says all those vaccines really do is shorten your pets lifespan and If you opt out or miss your appointments, you'll get a lecture from your vet

[08:04] You'll be painted as a bad and negligent pet parent. He says other veterinarian doctor friends of mine They know the score but they'll never speak publicly about it because the public's been trained to accept all the recommendations of big pharma For example, try calling yourself a holistic vet It's a risky move because more than likely your practice will dwindle However, it's practically a guarantee that the pets under your care will live longer and healthier than pets on a routine vaccine cycle Sign George the vet not my real name Hmm George, I didn't think so By the way Just a word of advice if you're bringing a cat or a dog down or you're gonna get a pet when you're down here When you go into the grocery store, you're gonna see all kinds of different brands no name brands of dog and cat food now

[08:53] Of course the traditional brands of cable that you know, like Cal can and purina and stuff They're down here too and much more expensive than the local no name brands They've got the real brand names, of course, but don't be fooled by brand names. That stuff's all crap, too It's the leftovers of the foods that are not fit for humans They talk about how processed foods are to be avoided because they destroy human health Well dog foods even the name brands are highly processed junk Why do you think most dogs by the time they hit about 10 or 12 have arthritis? Not to mention diabetes and a lot of other human ailments, too If you feed them kibble dog food from a bag man It's like putting a kid on an exclusive diet of Captain Crunch fruit loops and Happy Meals By the way The other no-name local dog food brands have even worse quality control and worse

[09:43] Ingredients than the name brands like Purina. Think about this. The biggest bakery in the world is Bimbo out of Mexico Yeah, I know great name, right? Anyway, it was discovered some years ago that Bimbo was adding sawdust to their bread as an extender Think about it. If they're getting away with adding sawdust to human food. What do you think they're putting in the dog food? That's why I always say if you can pull it off feed your dogs and cats a raw food diet Hey, that's how they lived in the wild for millions of years, right? No one ever cooked or served processed food to a mountain lion or a coyote To put your pets on a raw food diet here in Latin America is very easy and cheaply done Big huge fresh food markets everywhere. Although if you do it, there's a big hump to get over that hump is you

[10:31] There's a psychological hump. You have to get over what I'm saying is at first anyway It's startling to watch your dog go nuts for a raw beef or chicken and they do they're absolutely nuts about it Sure, they wolf down their dry kibble, too It looks like they like that junk when they're eating it, but it's only because they're hungry Don't tell me they actually like it. They just need to put something into their stomachs But man, you should see the difference when you feed them raw meat I'll tell you it really takes something for you to get used to watching them eat it In fact over the years I've had visitors at my house see my dogs eat that raw food I've had more than one person say to me. I can't believe how they go at it It's almost frightening, but don't you think that's gonna bring out some of the more wild? Instincts in them like they're gonna be more mean and more aggressive. Yep. I've had visitors say that mostly ladies

[11:20] They're just not used to watching a domestic animal tear into a whole raw chicken I admit it can be rather off-putting But I have fed my dogs raw meat for years and they have not turned into wild savage beasts. Not at all They remained very well-mannered just because they might look kind of savage when they're diving into that food You know, they're enjoying it when they're done They're just as calm nice and obedient as ever, but I'll tell you there's one way you certainly know They absolutely prefer raw food over the cable do a little test just start walking up to that bowl while they're digging in and just watch them suddenly grab onto that chicken or piece of meat and Hold it in their jaws for dear life. You'll never see him do that with cable Now I've had my dogs trained up to the point where I could actually walk up to him while they're digging into a raw chicken

[12:10] I can touch the back of their head and they'll resist a little bit but I can actually pull it out of their mouths I wouldn't recommend that at home. It is part of a training technique though for discipline So have you ever walked up to your dog while he's feeding on cable, you know Purina or something? He might growl just a little bit But you can take the bowl away from him and as you do it He'll try to take a few last quick gulps. But man, I'm telling you unless you've trained your dog up quite well You're just not gonna get that raw chicken or raw beef away from him He'll hold on to that thing between his jaws for dear life Just a little observation from someone who's been feeding their dogs raw food for many years There's a lot to be said about feeding your dog raw meat. Here's a little boots on the ground story

[12:56] I told probably five maybe seven years ago lots of new listeners since then so it's worth repeating in Feeding my dogs raw meat. Normally I buy my raw meat at the big Central Market in Guatemala City Biggest all-round food and produce market in Central America. It's so big it could easily get lost there My seminar groups always spend an hour or two going through the place because it's just so unbelievable and so much fun I have my favorite place to buy whole raw driveway chickens in that market deep in that market There's a short fat little indigenous lady dressed in indigenous clothes. Just happy as can be She knows me. Well, I've bought so many chickens from her. She's actually tried to introduce me to her teenage daughter

[13:44] Anyway about every two weeks. I'd buy four giant driveway chickens and have her cut each one up in six pieces She'd just whip out her machete and go to work. She'd bag them up three pieces in a bag I'd take them home and throw them in my freezer Let them get rock-solid for three or four days at least and then at night I'd take out a bag and put it in the refrigerator part. So it would slow thaw Next day I'd give one piece of thawed out driveway chicken to each of my three dogs now people ask me why I Freeze the chicken. Well, it's because I read in a couple different places that kills or demobilizes at least 95% of all the bacteria on that chicken you've heard of those salmonella scares and all that Well, according to some of the vets, I know you just freeze them solid Thaw them out a couple days later. Then the bacteria count is way way down when you feed it to him after all

[14:34] We're talking about raw chicken here. Of course cooking for humans kills all that or it's supposed to Anyway, one day I was at the big market buying more chicken and that little indigenous lady spoke up She said you buy an awful lot of chicken. Do you have a restaurant or something or just a big family? I said the chickens are for my three dogs. She looked at me funny and just didn't believe it She laughed and said no really do you have a restaurant or just a big family? I said no really these are for my dogs. She still didn't believe me and to this day She still doesn't because no middle or lower middle class latina Whatever believe you'd feed good driveway chickens to your pets By the way, the saddest thing about the chicken sales in the big market is that you've got two types of chicken the chews from

[15:20] driveway chickens You know homegrown and get this bleached white Tyson chickens imported from the US and guess what? The Tyson chickens are cheaper by the pound than the driveway chicken hard to believe I know especially since Tyson chickens make a 2,000 mile journey Plus they go through ports and have to be packed unpacked frozen, etc Even now it seems impossible. How can they possibly undercut? driveway chicken prices when most these people are raising driveway chickens right outside their own front doors No freezing. No transport. No injected antibiotics. No border crossings. No inspections by the way a whole ready to go driveway chickens yellow a Certain kind of yellow and a whole Tyson chicken or any Tyson chicken pure white

[16:05] Why because they bleach it with chlorine bleach to kill the bacteria during transport Yuck, am I making you sick already? Hope so plus all the antibiotics and Disgusting living conditions at those Tyson plants and a stink in the poop. Well, you don't need to hear anymore But back to that little indigenous lady in the marketplace. She'd take out her machete with three precise wax She'd cut a chicken into six pieces that wait just about the same Don't ask me how she did it or how she learned how to do that. But what's a sight to see? Oh, and by the way, I once asked her how old those chickens were, you know How long they've been sitting around waiting to get sold She said she gets up at four in the morning Kills and plucks the necessary number and brings them in for the day's customers

[16:52] So you're talking about chicken that's been dead less than a day and those Tyson chickens, man They could be laying around weeks even months, but it doesn't matter because they're all pre dipped in chlorine bleach. Isn't that nice? Let's talk about that lady in her machete. Oh and that young daughter. She introduced me to She must have been all of 17. She had a machete too. In fact, everyone who has a stall in that big market must be 500 stalls there Everybody setting up shop there has a machete or two That's why when I read this article coming out of Australia on May 27th, I was so taken aback. The title is Australia state bans machete sales after a gang fight at a mall Turns out the government of Victoria Australia will ban the sale of machetes starting Wednesday after a violent gang fight at a shopping center

[17:40] Turned into a machete chopping free-for-all Sending a number of people to the hospital emergency room Well, I was thinking you know if they were trying to do that in Latin America That would shut down the entire culture because let me tell you Latin Americans just love their machetes They're an integral part of society. Not so much to people in the city city dwellers often don't have machetes at all But everyone who's got a home with just at least bit of a little garden has a machete tucked away somewhere a lot of Latinos I know I have a machete somewhere in their car in the trunk under the front seat In fact when I had my big house in the coffee field out in the boonies I must have had four machete stuffed away in the gardener shack and my maintenance guy the gardener didn't use any of them He brought his own man because those are a personalized item

[18:25] In fact in rural Latin America almost all the guys you see walking down the street have a machete somewhere Sometimes they're packing a machete in a beautiful leather tooled scabbard I'm not kidding as my maintenance guy once told me you know how cowboys in the old days used to prize their saddles Sometimes more than the horse they'd go through a lot of horses, but always have the same saddle they grew into it It was comfortable like a well-fitting pair of leather shoes That's what a machete is to the average Latin American country boy And you know it always amazes me how little damage is done by machetes I'm talking about you know people getting in fights and chopping each other up that almost never happens except with crimes of passion When you do read about someone getting hacked up with a machete You can bet 99% of the time it's revenge for a crime of passion a woman catching her guy cheating or vice versa

[19:16] Even so it's pretty rare. It's amazing though that you just don't hear about people getting into it You know doing battle dueling with machetes like they used to do with pistols, but outlawing machetes man That's never gonna happen. You know Australia. Maybe but not down here in Latin America. That's for sure Oh, and you should see the ladies and the young girls how they wield machetes. They've got it down All right in fact most of the little corner stands you see out on the highway selling coconuts You know they'll make you a fresh batch of coconut water they'll slice off the top of a coconut in one whack for a buck and most of those tienes are manned by ladies all expert machete wielders a Couple of precise wax and they've sliced the tip off a coconut till you see the white meat

[20:02] Which you just easily penetrate with a straw when you're ready to drink bit of advice here Don't buy coconuts and try to do that yourself Takes a lot of practice to do it right believe me lots of gringles. I've tried and hurt themselves all right Let's take an email from James. He says Johnny my kids have EVs now electric vehicles And I'm trying to talk them into solar versus the ridiculous power grid charge. They use today He talked about building your own system a while back. Can you please share those details so I can get them going on that They are in Arizona, so Plentia Sun signed James and Cindy Well Jay and see I'd be glad to share that with you know if right now today I was setting up a brand new off-grid solar system capable of running a complete household and

[20:52] Charging an EV an electric car. I'd go to an online company in the States called Signature solar and I'd buy the inverter and the battery from them They handle lots of different manufactured products, but my favorite is eg4. That's eg4 That's a particular brand name what I'd buy today right now is the flex boss FLEX BOSS 21 inverter It does everything a Tesla Powerwall inverter system does for a third of the price in the same 10-year guarantee get this it'll take 21 kilowatts of solar panel 21 K. That would be about 55 Oh 400 watt panels, and it'll put out 18,000 kilowatts continuous whether you get that power during the day from solar panels directly or you're driving it at night with batteries

[21:44] By the way, I am installing this exact system in a place right now The flex boss 21 inverter along with three eg4 wall mount indoor batteries It's got exactly the same specs as a Tesla Powerwall with three Tesla batteries These batteries instead of being 10,000 bucks apiece like Tesla Powerwall batteries are 3,500 each So you get the flex box 21 inverter along with two or three of these batteries You order them from this place called signature solar and they've got fantastic customer service. They walk you through the setup Well, actually they're very easy to set up yourself, even if you don't have too much do-it-yourself experience But they'll walk you through whatever problem you might have

[22:30] For example, you might have trouble setting up the app on your phone and such now James You say your kids live in Arizona if they only want solar to charge their car batteries That's a great idea. Just go to signature solar get on the chat box. Tell them what you need They'll design a system for you and quite possibly if you want to go cheap You don't need to have any batteries on all just maybe 10 or 15 400 watts solar panels and an inverter for daytime electric vehicle charging only now Of course, if you want to go completely off the grid with your house, etc Then you'll need batteries, but just to charge a car, you don't your car is the battery Oh and just a few tips and some hints here. This is a show about living in Latin America, right? So if you want to go off the grid solar in Latin America, which I highly recommend

[23:17] Go to the signature solar website buy your eg4 inverter and eg4 batteries from them Have them shipped down here to Latin America pay the import tax. That's anywhere from 10 to 25% But there are some Latin American countries that have no tax on solar items Because then when you set up your system, you're not putting a load on their grid So lots of Latin American countries are getting on board with that Offering tax-free importation of solar equipment. So whatever Latin country and just ask around just walk into any shipping company office And they'll advise you but even so if you're forced to pay a 10 to 25 percent duty It's worth it because that's one thing here in Latin America. That's much more expensive than up in the States Electricity so as it turns out if you have an electric car down here in Latin America

[24:06] You just might not save a dime over having a gas-powered car There just might be no savings at all going electric and charging your batteries from the local grid Though if you have your own inverter and solar panel set up and charge from that there's a tremendous saving So don't go electric down here in Latin America. Anyway, unless you've got your own solar panels to charge it Anyway, my advice if you're living in Latin America order the inverter and batteries from signature solar Remember that brand eg4 now eg4 inverters have all the proper US approvals To power your house and sell power back to the grid also if you're interested in selling power back I'm not what I do. Love is that they're just like a Tesla Powerwall system at a third the price I've had them both Tesla and eg4

[24:53] So I know a bit about it. By the way, if you buy a Tesla system They'll also sell you a thing called a gateway Basically allows you to partition the power coming off the solar panels or the battery Like for example, if you're running your air conditioner and your electric stove and electric clothes dryer at the same time It'll cut off the power that charges your car Then when your electric dryer shuts off, it'll instantly switch power back into charging the car It's called a Tesla gateway. Now you could buy a gateway for an eg4 inverter, too It's called a flex boss and does exactly the same thing as a Tesla gateway So basically Tesla was the first to come up with all that stuff and everyone now is copying and with Tesla still the king eg4 is the best copy I've ever seen so my suggestion if you're living in Latin America

[25:41] Your best choice if money's no object a Tesla Powerwall system But if you want to pay a third is for something that does pretty much exactly the same plus you get a 10-year warranty out Of it go with eg4 order the stuff from the state But skip ordering the solar panels from the states get them down here There are plenty of companies that sell and install solar panel right here in Latin America nearby you so have a local solar power company Mount and connect the panels for you You'll be surprised the panels are super cheap these days. And if you order them from the states, they're cheap too But they're big and bulky so you'll pay a lot for shipping. That's why it's not recommended I repeat by your solar panels down here in Latin America and have them installed By the company you bought them from then you supply the inverter and the batteries you got it clear as mud
